The 1976 Amida Digitrend

The 1976 Amida Digitrend

The Amida Digitrend is not a vintage watch you see very often. Designed to resemble the shape of the cars from that era, the Amida Digitrend stands out on the wrist. It was first released at Baselworld in 1976. This particular Amida Digitrend houses the original pin lever jump hour movement which were fairy fragile. The idea was if the movement broke, it would simply be replaced with a new one. Therefore, it is seemingly rare to find one with the original movement and in great condition like the one we have here. It also looks very much like the MB&F HM5 which also has a case shaped like the back of iconic vintage cars.

We will be writing up the story behind this watch, but for now enjoy seeming this funky watch in real time.

Enjoy!
