Ep. 77 - The $6.5 Million Tiffany-Blue Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711

Ep. 77 - The $6.5 Million Tiffany-Blue Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711

What a crazy couple of weeks. Patek Philippe had announced earlier in the year that they were discontinuing the 5711. They decided to end the year with a bang, and release a limited edition Tiffany-blue dial Nautilus 5711, signed by Tiffany & Co to commemorate their 170-year relationship. There were only 170 released, and one of them was offered at Phillips New York. Well, it ended up selling for a total of $6.5 million. Thought a steel Nautilus couldn’t sell for that much? Think again! I discuss the result, what it means for watches (and auctions) and a recent siting of one of the extraordinarily rare watches on the wrist of a famous artist.
