A Marine Torpilleur Moonphase and Annual Chronograph, Geneva Watch Days 2021 - Ulysse Nardin

Ulysse Nardin showcased two references with two fairly unique complications that pull nicely on the history of the brand. Both watches are part of the Marine Torpilleur and are seamlessly integrated into the already beautiful dial configuration of this collection of watches.

The first complication that Ulysse Nardin added was the moon-phase - a complication that is fairly synonymous with their brand. Ulysse Nardin contributed heavily to the marine chronometers of past, which put extreme value on the night sky and its beauty. Sure this one isn’t going to help you with directions at sea, but the moon-phase at 6 o’clock is still very beautiful to look at.

The second complication they expanded to is the annual chronograph, which is something seen less often on the wrist of enthusiasts. Chronographs can be tough to do well - its a complication I love but too often see brands slapping a chronograph on the dials of their watches. Often times it is without thought with how it integrates with the rest of the case and dial, but Ulysse Nardin did a great job with this one.
