A Limited Edition Seiko Chronograph that was My First Seiko Watch

Seiko is obviously a brand that many people rave about - and for good reason. The Japanese brand produces some incredible watches that are accessible to many and are basically indestructible for the most part. The brand is also doing a huge amount of ‘high horology’ watchmaking with Grand Seiko that has really become a staple of this sector of watchmaking. Today, I thought I’d share my first Seiko that I have ever owned, one that is very special to me.

The watch is a Seiko Chronograph that is a limited edition piece produced for the 2002 Football World Cup in Korea and Japan. From my research, there wasn’t a ton of information online about this reference, the SCQP003 which runs on the quartz caliber V657. From what I can tell, there were two variations of this watch, one with a blue dial and blue bezel, the other with a black dial and black bezel. About 2000 were made in each colour, and it seems like it is harder to find the blue version. It also looks like there is a blue dial, yellow bezel version floating around in the market too. Seiko made many limited editions to mark this special World Cup, so we hope you enjoy hearing about our story with this special Seiko.

Enjoy!
