The Best Watches of 2019 - Our Favourite Watches of the Year

Last year we released a post about the best watches we had curated for our watch shop. These are watches that were head and shoulders above the rest of watches that we found. To identify these watches, we chose watches that were of amazing condition, rarity, had cool stories behind them or simply for the fact that we loved finding and wearing them. This year, we had a variety of watches, but there were three that really stood out to us.

The first was the Amida Digitrend. We absolutely love watches that have quirky designs. MB&F is obviously one of our favourite watch companies and the MB&F HM5 is takes design cues from the Amida. It is modeled like the back of a vintage car and has a dashboard-like display. It was in incredible condition and we ended up selling it to a collector in Singapore. It was fun to find, wear and the new owner loves it!

The second watch was a modern Tudor Black Bay Black. We were asked by a good friend to curate one for him. We ended up finding one that had sold six months prior with box and papers as well as a rubber strap. This watch presents huge value to a collector, and our friend really has enjoyed it. We loved this watch because it brought us closer to the friend which is what makes this community so great.

The last watch was a Breitling Top Time reference 2002 from 1965. Some of the best value in vintage watches comes are vintage chronographs from this century. We had wanted to find this watch for our store for some time, and finally found one with a beautiful cream dial. These chronographs have an amazingly comfortable size for the wrist and really are hard to beat.

It was a great year, and we look forward to the next!

Enjoy!
